Proof of concept — the only way to show that something really works. Going through the actual paces of using the product just proves that what you claim is the real deal. That is especially true in the automotive OEM industry – each part of the car is important because safety and durability are paramount when it comes to every vehicle.

Take for example what our friends over at Power Wheels did for over two years. In 2016, they took a standard issue Suzuki Ciaz 1.4 GLX AT and used it as their daily commuter. Of course, being gearheads our guys at Power Wheels made sure to take care of the rides through regular maintenance and proper usage.

With over 31 thousand kilometers under its belt, the car held up remarkably well. At the end of that two year run, the battery needed changing which is par for the course for most batteries. But the revelation was the Bridgestone Ecopia EP-150s. Ecopias are built specifically for fuel efficiency and durability and that was showcased in the two year run.

The tires showed no obvious cracks and or bulges. When tested, the threads of the tire wore down by an average of 2 millimeters. For context, tires usually start with threads at the 7 millimeter range. That means that tires still have plenty of bite and are still good for road use. The Power Wheels team just rotated the tires as front wheels take more of a beating than rear wheels.

It just goes to show that here at Bridgestone, we take pride in providing safe and durable tires through industry-leading technology.
