The pandemic has presented new challenges in our daily lives that we never expected to face. Even when the government has lifted the enhanced community quarantine, we are still nowhere near our “normal” routine.

It is not yet the time to relax about social distancing and return to our pre-pandemic ways. The pandemic is still around, and our goal is still the same—slow the spread of COVID-19 and flatten the curve.

With that in mind, how do we stay vigilant and careful during GCQ?

Shop online

Groceries and supermarkets are one of the places that are crowded with people right now. Minimize your exposure to crowded places by shopping online, but if you need to pick up your groceries outside, remember to wear a mask and follow the safety protocols.

How to stay Vigilant and Careful during GCQ

Always disinfect your groceries

Proper handling of food packaging should be followed. For items like fruits and vegetables, you can make your produce wash by filling a spray bottle with 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar.

Disinfect surfaces

Apart from kitchen counters and tables, include objects we often touch like phone keypads, computer keyboards, and TV remote. Damp a cloth with a disinfectant to clean them.

Avoid close contact with people

When you are outside where plenty of people are present, keep a safe distance from them, and practice physical distancing.

Practice good hygiene

Wash your hands regularly with soap. Don’t forget to wash in between fingers and your nails and remember to disinfect your hands with an alcohol-based sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
