Bridgestone Cup Leg 2

The race is on as car enthusiasts join this much-awaited event: The first-ever Bridgestone Cup. Now on its second leg, the race is a 3-leg competition that will surely put Bridgestone’s superior products to the test. Bridgestone Cup stands out as a driving competition because it is one that challenges the participants to test their road skills both on and off-road. Engines will roar this day as the race continues!

Last August 26, marked the day for the success of the first leg of the Bridgestone Cup; Sports cars ruled the tarmac in a high-speed sports driving competition, highlighting Potenza S001, the tire of choice for high performance cars all over the world.

Bridgestone takes the competition a notch further as adventure-seekers compete for the first place. Different surprises and challenges full of twists and turns await the participants in this rugged driving competition.

The competition features the Bridgestone Dueler A/T 697, also known as the Dueler All-Terrain and the Dueler M/T 673, also known as the Dueler Mud Terrain. These are truly the perfect choice for Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV) and 4x4s as both tires are engineered to go the distance in absolute performance, comfort and stability.

The Dueler A/T 697 boasts its design for superior road-handling performance for on road and off road driving.  It has superior wear life and better resistance to cutting and chipping. This tough All-Terrain tire delivers better durability, less irregular wear and reduces noise in both new and worn condition. On the other hand, the Dueler M/T 673 is engineered for maximum traction and aggressive performance combined with comfortable ride. It offers excellent stability and precise steering response even on the toughest road conditions

When asked why this theme was chosen for the second leg of the Bridgestone Cup, Philip Gan, VP for Marketing of the Philippine Allied Enterprises Corp. (PAEC), the official distributor of Bridgestone tires in the country has this to say, “We were looking for more unique and exciting challenges, something different from the first leg of the Bridgestone cup. This is why we thought that an off-road competition can bring us to the next level.”

“Today’s competition is a chance to showcase another one of Bridgestone’s premium products. It is a great way to show how well the Bridgestone Dueler A/T 697 and M/T 673 perform in extreme conditions,” said Marc Tagle, the EVP-GM of PAEC. He shares, “Dueler A/T 697 is designed for on-the-go vehicles whenever and wherever travel is needed. It is proven to maximize performance and support your car, the way tires should,” Tagle adds, “The M/T 673 tire brings adventure with comfort and ease knowing that no matter what the weather conditions are, no matter where you go, you will be assured of great performance and stability.”

“We are confident that we can satisfy the participants’ desire for adventure and travel, with a different kind of challenge. We also hope that the second leg of the Bridgestone Cup can promote safety in driving, knowing that after the competition, drivers will be given the trust and confidence in our products,” says Gan.

It is exciting to see the results of the competition as race teams go head-to-head on different types of road tracks – tough driving, for tough drivers!

Next month will be the launch of the last leg of the Bridgestone Cup, and it will be held at the Batangas Race Circuit on the 28th of October this year. To end the Bridgestone Cup, the third leg will be a more eco-themed competition. More exciting surprises are yet to be revealed.
